I just want to clarify how symptoms of an S.T.D are related to the way in which you aquired the infection.

What I mean is, if you gave someone a blowjob, and they had an S.T.D would your symptoms be related to your throat?

Also, if you let someone with an S.T.D go down on you, would they be able to infect your genitals via there saliva?

You can transmit sti thru oral, rectal, and vaginal intercause, also if someone has an sti and gives you oral depending what infection they have in sure you can catch thru saliva, like herpes etc hope this helps

I understand how you catch an S.T.D what I'm asking is if you only gave someone a blowjob (i.e no other sexual contact) would your symptoms only be restricted to your mouth and your throat? Or could the infection spread from there to your genitals.

Yes I think it just stays in your throat and your mouth.
