Wet Mount for STDs & HIV Test Questions
Would suspicious cells for genital warts or STDs other than vaginitis show on wet mount that would prompt doctor to order additional tests? My doctor did a wet mount & diagnosed vaginitis. However, itching/burning/swollen groun glands still persist & I've found a small hard circular bump just inside my vagina. I know additional tests would be required to confirm diagnosis of genital warts (or syphilis, chlamydia, etc), but would doc see that abnormalities beyond vaginitis were present on wet mount?
Also would a high ASO titre level affect a HIV test (cause false negative) or be an indicator that HIV is present? I have an ASO level of 536 but my HIV test came back negative.
I had a 5 week "fling" unprotected w/ a guy I knew in high school. Very concerned.
Any insight would be appreciated. I am awaiting my follow-up HIV test (16 weeks) results.
