okay first things first, you need to see your gynecologist or infertility doctor right away. Second, have that doctor give you a fertility work up which is they will draw blood from you to check your ovaries if it's ovulating or not, and other fertility checks will come from this blood test. Third, you NEED A SALPINGOGRAPHY. This is an unusual x-ray test that checks your fallopian tubes while you have your period. In other words, you cannot take this x-ray test without having your period. On the second day of your period, you have to go in and what they do is give you pain killers or midol before you take this test. You lye back on the xray table and spread your legs. The x-ray technician will insert a tube through your vagina and out of this tube the xray technician will quirt or disperse a liquid dye through your uterus and out through your fallopian tubes. Now the xray technician can see everything on screen. He can see if the liquid is coming out through both of your fallopian tubes. If the liquid is coming out through either both or at least one of your tubes, then you should be fine because that means that you still have a chance of being pregnant when the sperm shoots through your OPEN fallopian tubes. But if the liquid dye does not go through the fallopian tubes, then you have a problem and would probably have to resort to
In-vitro fertilization.

ok. infertility is a difficult issue. it cannot be diagnosised by one test. There are many issues leading to infertility., First things first, when you were diagnosised with trich, and chlymadia, did yu follow the doctor's treatment plan? did you get follow up care? did the doctor preform another cervical swab and retest you? If you did follow the treatment plan....and medication plan, you are not at risk for infetility issues due to the std. As for your tubes...you can have one open tube and be fertile. Fertility is a huge issue, that needs to be addresses by your ob-gyn doctor. make sure your dr. nows of your past history----to help indicate treatment and good luck!

Okay, although I appreciate your input about infertility and that the original person who wrote this message have nothing to worry about. But the fact is, she may have something to worry about. I understand that you can be pregnant with one tube open. But it is also a big possibility that you may not. I have one tube open and I haven't gotten pregnant in 5 years. I may have to just resort to Artificial Insemination which my insurance covers. Now my ovaries are fine and I am ovulating however just like the original person who wrote this message, I too have had the same infections that she has had and yes these infections chlamydia and Trichamonas CAN AND DO cause infertility. I know that infertility is a touch and go thing but it is especially even harder or you are more at risk for infertility when you have these infections such as Chlamydia and Trichamonas. That is the truth. I've done my research, the doctor says the same thing plus what I've been through. Believe me, do not tell the original person of this message that she has nothing to worry about. The fact is she should worry a little bit and go to a INFERTILITY SPECIALIST. It doesn't mean that she cannot get pregnant it just means that the infections that she has had before DOES PLAY A ROLE IN HER POSSIBLE INFERTILITY. And so she may have to resort to infertility drugs, artificial insemination or Invitro-fertilization. But please do not tell that girl that her infections has nothing to do with her possible infertility. Because the fact is, it does play a role. The original person that wrote this message, if I were you, I would go to an Infertility Specialist right away. Good luck

hello, again. regarding my last message, i am offering helpful advice, of knowledge that i have. I have abtained this information through my education as an ob-gyn nurse/clinical coordinator. I am sorry to hear of of the last writers battle with infertility. Infertility/ std's are a huge forum, containing last of difficult diagnosises. everyone is different. One fact is unremarkably true....if you have a disease, and treat it as directed by the physician, and complete the follow up care, then all side effects are significantly reduced. Just remember one thing, tell your ob-gyn doc, all details...so they can help you better. ( to the last writer...good luck with your infertility battle, it sounds also you have done alot of research for what you are experiencing with your body.)

I recently found out I have Chlamydia, so is there a possibility that I could be infertile as well? I mean, I dont know how long I've had it, so could extended periods of time have a serious affect too?

Exclamation How I Am where i am, and advice

i had extreme belly aches vomiting and the whole-9 a couple of days ago. i never knew what was wrong with me. until i started to get extremely weak, couldnt walk or sit up straight. ...i was always crunched over. ...and im only a teen.

i haven't had sex alot. only once. ...but with that one guy (my ex) this wasn't his first time. ...he actually told me he had 4 before but come to think of it, he had waaaay more. ...and obviously. it was (unprotected).

at the time i didn't kno what was happening, when it happened. i figured he was my heart but did he wait no! i was practically forced, didn't listen to a word i said at the moment and ....

till this day my doc treated me as if i had gonorrhea/chlamydia ... and thank god she did, because within the 2days that results come back. ...it was positive for chlamydia. i couldnt quiet comprehend she was using too many big words but i heard the positive ...and the PID ... but she said unless you have unprotected sex again. ...it would come back if your partner had too many partners.

...so everyone:
EVEN IF U THINK UR IN LOVE. ...IF THAT PERSON LOVES YOU SOO MUCH! LET THEM GET TESTED FOR ALL OF THE ABOVE.

....[Believe Me*]....

Re: infertile

Hi mzadams. I just wanted to let you know that I had PID back in 1977. I was in the hospital for 5 days on IV antibiotics. I had NO trouble conceiving. Please don't get me wrong..I am sure that some women do but I didn't and maybe you won't either. Try to relax about it and concentrate on getting yourself well.
