Okay, here goes: I have had a very similar experience. I also found bumps around my vagina a while ago and at the time was very afraid to tell my Mom. It's probably okay for you to keep it to yourself, since it is not a life-threatening problem. There are also much easier ways to deal with these bumps than burning them off, topical medications such as Aldara, which I have found to be the best, and Condylox, which is not a great one, are usually available by prescription and are expensive if you do not have any type of insurance. So, if you do not feel comfortable telling your Mom, try going to Planned Parenthood or something like that. But, take care of it as soon as possible, before it gets worse. Also, have regular trips to the gyno for Pap smears to make sure it does not make any changes in your cervix, which can lead to cervical cancer (only certain types of HPV). But, not to make light of it, but HPV, which causes genital warts, is not serious, although incurable now, it is common and most sexually active people, about every 2 in 3 people has been exposed to it. So, good luck and feel free to respond.
