basically joined this site coz i'm getting quite concerned, so i'd love good feedback!

basically i have this swelling half way down the shaft of my penis on one side. everything looks as it should be, apart from one side on my penis seems to be enflammed, although no real colour change. when my penis is erect or when the foreskin in drawn back it is more obvious.

i used to get sores on this part of my penis from too much sexual activity, which occasionally swelled up a bit, these went away after a week or so of less activity. this is just like one of those apart from it's been there for about 2 months and is quite large with little sign of change.

can someone suggest what's going on? i have no idea and am getting worried!

oh and also the glands in my groin are very hard- i heard that if they swell up it's a sign of an infection. i'm not sure if they're swollen but mine seem very hard and i was wondering if that's normal?

btw i am a virgin so little chance of sti i think...

what kind of sexual activity are you having too much of then if youre a virgin?? you can still get some things, like hpv, herpes, chlamidya, gonnorhea for oral sex although the risk is lower. you can also get hpv and herpes from just rubbing up together even if you dont have sex. I think you should go to a doctor! the swollen glands are a sign of infection... alot of ppl with herpes and HIV get them ...
but it could nothing... its always best to know.

thanks for the reply. no i have only been masturbating, so i can't think it's anything that serious.

are the glands in the groin usually hard? i'm not sure if they're swollen at all!

what does penile cancer look like? i know it's very rare, and i'm young but i can't think of what this is.

yeah you are right then, it probably isnt an std. Have you ever felt those glands before? I mean if they could have always been as hard as they are now.. some of my friends have told me theirs were like visibly swollen when they had outbreaks of herpes. Penile cancer.. I think it could look like anything, and yes you are young, but its not IMPOSSIBLE just unnlikely. I really think you should just make a doctors appointment and get him to check it out. good luck!
