does molluscum ever go away?? Hi im 22 and was tested last september and found out i had molluscum on my penis i must of just gotten them because i didnt even know i had them. when i found this out the doctor said it wasnt a big deal but you should get then removed or they will go away over some time. i really didnt think it was such a big deal.but when i got home i looked it up to see how to removed them at home the first time i used wart remover and they came back really fast so i tried it again and they didnt come back until now which is 4 months. when i found this out in september i was also tested for hiv and was negative im going to get tested again tomorrow. I also been in a on and off again Relationship since the last 3 months and now seeing them coming back i dont know what to do. is the best thing to stop? we wear condoms. and i looked and he has nothing on his body. but if anyone can tell me why they keep coming back i will be so happy. and by putting the wart remover on them could that be slowing down them from healing and finally going away? |
Re: does molluscum ever go away?? The virus can remain latent in your body and keep causing new bumps until the immune system finally recognizes the virus as the pathogen that it is. Focus on general health, exercise, sunlight, healthy eating, maybe eliminate sugar. And I would probably avoid taking any supplements because it's really hard to know which ones would help or hurt the immune system's chances of detecting the virus. (I've found a lot of people say that some extremely immunosuppressive things are immune boosting, so I'd just eat well.) You might go back to your doctor or go to a different one who is comfortable using some irritant treatment on them. I'm not sure what it is that doctors use for this, maybe low concentration cantharidin. (This might even be the same as some home wart treatments, but it's probably slightly stronger.) This irritant treatment is more likely to stimulate an immune reaction which results in immune recognition of the virus. |
