Dear everybody:

I got separated from my husband six months ago. For the last six months I have been trying hard to recover from the pain, the loss, the frustration and the failure but it has not worked well. First I stopped eating until I lost so much weight that I looked sick. Then I smoked so much that I got sick as well, and had to take antibiotics. Now I quit smoking and I have gained like 20 pounds and I look awful. I think it is time to realize that I cannot do this by myself and that I need to take medicine. Even though I have been going to counseling, I still have to deal with daily life the rest of the time and I cannot sleep, concentrate or function well at work, in school (I study a Master's Degree) or in society. What would be the best medicine to take?

It it best to talk to a doctor about going on medications, whether they are prescription or herbal. I always tell patients never turn to thinking medication solves problems, because they don't, it can make matters worse. With situations that happen, whether taking medication or not, it always takes time. Never try and rush an issue to disappear. However, you can take vitamin B supplements to help with stress. Also take a multi-vitamin for the female body. They contain the right minerals and nutrients for the body. Goodluck =]
