My Journey of Infertility

Hello everyone. This is my first day on this site. Much like everyone else who has experienced infertility problems, it helps and encourages me to see that I am not the only one with questions and frustration. By the way, I do not use all of the abbreviations that most of you use so bare with me.

I am 35.8 years old with three children from a previous marriage (a very bad marriage). Anyway, I am re-married to a wonderful man (age 33) who loves my children as if they are his own. Our original agreement when dating was since I had children, and that I was older - that children was out of the question. However, after 2 years of marriage, we both had an overwhelmingly desire to share this wonderful journey of having a mini clone of ourselves. 2 years has passed and no go in getting pregnant. Here is the synopsis:

No female problems - ever. I started menstration at the age of 16. They were always 28-29 days. Pamp smears were always normal. Never had cramps, cysts, bleeding isssues, or problems with getting pregnant until my tubal ligation. Even after that everything was normal, until I wanted to get pregnant again.

However, I do have hypertension issues (may be because I have a high stress job -RN on a progressive care unit; and i am high-strung with familial hx. of hypertension without strokes or heart attacks in the fam). I have since gone to a cardiologist. I am on Lebatolol and Methyldopa. He and my fertility doc thinks that I am fine in that area.
[*]Had a tubal ligation after my last child who is 12 years old. (year 1997)
[*](year 2007 - 10 years later - after re-marriage) Decided to go straight to IVF for the first go round at 33 - it was cancelled because i did not respond to Bravelle.
[*]Tubal reversal was done 4 months later (only 1 tube could be repaired; the left one with 7 cm left - HSG done about 2 months after procedure which showed the left tube to be functional and patent.
[*]Tried to get pregnant naturally for about 1.5 years.
[*]This November 2009, we started seeing another fertility specialist

also starting taking prenatal vitamins
[*]Was about to begin injections, but I had a large cysts on my right ovary. was placed on birth control for about 1 month; which did not shrink the cysts at all. The MD removed the cysts and made sure the right tube was blocked...............and following the next cycle, we begain the phase of of attempting IUI with injections.
[*](March 2, 2010) U/S revealed 5 follicles to the left and 3 follicles to the right. Placed on menopur 150u for 4 days. The fourth day I had 6 follicles to the left (which is what we wanted because i only have the left tube to work with) and 5 follicles to the right. The fourth day after Menopur, that night I had an injection of Ganirelex. The following day I had 3 mature follicles (to the left) - (1) 21mm, (2) 18mm. The other 3 were about 12-14 mm. This is definitely what we wanted on the left side since I only have the left to work with.
[*]March 2, 2010 at night HCG - IUI was done March 4, 2010. My husband does not have any problems with his sperm. That day after washing, he had 60 mil sperm, with 92% motility, and grade 4.
[*]March 18, is the day I will find out if I have a BFP.

The reason why I am going so much in depth is because I read postings trying to find out certain things, and the information is so little as to why the cycle was cancelled, or why certain things did not work, ages when it happened, how many times and why, what were the measurments of follicles, what meds they tried, if they have children or not, past history of female problems.

History has a lot to do with your current situation. I realize that age has so much to do with the success of this stuff. But, if it is God's Will, it will be.

Just wanted to share to help anyone who may have a similar situation.
