| Shingles question
Hello, I was wondering if anyone out there has had a slow onset of the shingles rash?
I have had shingles before and think I have it again, but the onset of the rash seems to be very slow- the red blotches have been there for a week, gradually becoming more prominent but haven't blistered (yet).
I've had a mixture of pain, a prickly sensation, tingling, itching and a general, incomfortable, sensitivity in the surrounding area of my back and round under my armpit. I also feel unwell- easily exhausted, occasionally feverish, achey joints, headachey etc
I went to see my GP last week, as all these symptoms feel very familiar (I'm,sure anyone who has had shingles once will agree that you never forget that feeling)and thought I would try and catch it in the early stages but he said that is wasn't shingles and to take paracetamol. I left feeling unsatisfied as I have no explanation for feeling so rubbish.
I have chronic asthma and my steroid dosage was recently doubled and I am very run down and stressed as I am three weeks from finishing my degree. It's a total nightmare as I have a large volume of work to do but am finding progress impossible- yesterday I was attempting to work but had to go lie down in a dark room because trying to look at my PC monitor made me feel like I was going to throw up.
Please help!
