My opthalmologist is the best! She sees me whenever necessary and often has to 'pluck out inturned lashes' due to the fact that my rt. upper lid structure has been altered from a bad case of shingles 2 years ago. I keep on hand Lotemax and use it when I get an eye inflammation. My problem is daily--my eye feels like it has something under the lid, drops don't help much and at some point during the day, it will ease and other times, it really is uncomfortable. I pluck tiny lashes out almost daily. Has anyone had shingles and had it affect the eye this way? The nerve that was affected (the forehead, eyebrow and down the rt side of my nose and my upper lid, itch like crazy often and are still very sensitive to the touch. I wondered if there is another doctor I should see? Does anyone know if a neuro opthalmologist would be that doctor or has anyone had this experience here on this board?
By the way, when this first happened I was referred to a neuro opthalmologist because it was thought I had temporal arteritis but I broke out with shingles before I got to his office after the weekend. He then turned me back over to my own doctor. Now that I'm having what I think is nerve discomfort, I'm wondering about going back to him. I also just had the cataract removed from this eye in July and it's done great with that. thanks.
