Shingles

I suffer from outbreaks of Shingles and recently had an outbreak.
I have a partner who a couple of months ago both got fully tested at the GUM clinic and had a clean bill of health and since then have used condoms.
My partner has found a couple of blisters on his penis and been told that he has Herpes, could this have been there and not shown at testing or could i have passed on through Shingles.
I am really devastated!!!

Re: Shingles

Are you saying you have genital herpes or shingles? They are two different things. Shingles does not stay around. It usually presents itself as a reactivation of the chicken pox vaccine - very painful - later in life.
How were you diagnosed? Swab or blood test?
And how was he diagnosed? Tell him to get his results and look to see if he was tested with the right blood test. It should be a type specific IgG test for both hsv1 and hsv2. If he sees anything referring to IgM then he had the wrong test.
