I have shingles at the moment and this is the 3rd time in less than a year unfortunately i have it in the private area then works round like a pair of shorts! I have noticed today that they are now bleeding, is this normal as i have never had this before.?

We basically deal with herpes type 1 and 2 on this board. Shingles is the reactivation of the chicken pox virus later in life. I've heard it can be very painful. But I have no direct knowledge of how it reacts in relation to HSV2 which I have. Sorry.

Perhaps one of the other boards could help.

Hi..

I have had an experience with shingles and yes depending on where they are and the case, some bleeding is not uncommon, I am sure your clothing and walking is not helping the situation, maybe try wearing 100% cotton, and very lose clothing until they heal, Oatmeal baths may help to dry them out faster, if you can tolerate... I hope you feel better soon.....
