Has anyone gotten shingles after getting the shingles vaccine?
 

Hi,

I am trying to decide if I should get the shingles vaccine, and I was wondering if anyone has gotten the shingles after getting the vaccine. I am a 64 year old female with chronic kidney disease, and I am going to check with my nephrologist to be sure it's okay, but I just wanted to know if anyone has gotten the shingles because of the vaccine.

i've got a subscription for my shingle shot. my doctor doesn't give them so i call the health department and they want 186.00 for the vaccine. then i went to walgreen and they give the shot but want call insurance company to find out the price. for some damn reason t=my insurance company has to them call instead of telling me.

You betcha, I have had the shingles after the shingles and after the shot. I advise get the shot. My shingles since the shot are not near as severe as they were before. I have had them so many times I am losing count but it is either 2 or 3 times I have had them since the shot.

I thought they did not cross over the midline of the body but the last 3 times I have had them in my opposite eye. I am taking an antiviral pill 5 times a day for 2 weeks plus Zirgan for my eye. It all helps.
