shingles without the rash?

I am wondering if anybody has had shingles without ever having the rash? I've dealt with nerve pain for the past 9 years, localized to the same area at least twice a year, been to countless doctors including seeing a pain management specialist today. I told him the same thing I have told everybody else and he said it sounded like shingles...he even stepped out of the room to run my symptoms by his colleagues and they all agreed. I am having an MRI next week of my neck and brachial plexus to rule anything else out. Just interested in knowing if anybody else has experienced shingles without the rash.....

Re: shingles without the rash?

Omg mine is wrapped around my rib age that goes into themid back it's taking me tommy knees this pain well I can understand y people would take the bridge. Had a very stressful, thing happen and literally thought I was having nervouse breakdown. Then this god awe full, pain came went to doctor. He thinks it's shingles under the skin that doesn't have the typical rash. Which can b more dangerouse. I can't handle this. They put me on veltrex yesterday. How long does this take and it definitely doesn't touch the nerve pain. If by chance vaktrex doesn't do anything and I'm back to square one then what. 3 weeks in and crying uncontrolllably. If I go to ER they'll tell me it takes time. What! Omg what do u suggest for the pain. Would ER do anything ? I can't believe this. My son was is in a severe auto, accident broke his neck. My daughter fell at work and hit her head on cement and is sporting a pretty bad concussion. Have to drive her n him everywhere. I feel I'm living there lives for them if u know what I meannnhes going bonkers wants to go back to early. He water lasts and paints lines on highways. Well, please say some prayers for me. Omg.
