Yes, there are plenty of things you can do to heal.
But you really should see an orthopedist who will be able to tell you if this is a rotator cuff injury/ or tendonitis, etc.
Don't even THINK surgery at this point.Surgery is an absolute last ditch option.
What you really need is a proper diagnosis.
And based on that, perhaps some physical therapy,or a cortisone injection, or the proper application of heat and/or ice, or judicious use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatories or home exercises (prescribed by an expert who knows what you're dealing with). Don't try to self-treat without seeing an ortho person first.
As much as I believe in chiropractic work, I would suspend massage and all manipulation until you get a diagnosis. You could end up making things worse.
See an orthopedist.
