Hi everyone, I am new here, I really need answers to whats going on with me. SO Il start from the start I guess.
About 6 weeks ago I was involved in a rear end collision. I was stopped behind a car that was turning left when a tanker (BIG truck) drove into the back of me. The impact was loud and forceful. I can't exactly remember where my arms were placed, but usually when I am stopped I have my right arm on the steering wheel and my left arm on the gear stick (from ireland so we drive manual cars). I knew the truck wasn't going to stop cause I saw it in the rear view mirror so I probably braced myself for the impact (cant remember clearly).
I sustained bad whiplash, thoracic muscle strains and shoulder injuries. Have been to 9 sessions of physical therapy and my back and neck have improved a lot. My left shoulder however has seemed to have gotten worse. Both of my shoulders are very tender to press just where the arm meets the shoulder joint.. My left shoulder is painful intermittently, when i raise my arm above my head it hurts BUT not every time. and afterwards it aches and kinda fades away then. The weakness I feel in my shoulder and down to my arm is unbelievable. I cant stand the feeling anymore. ROM in my left shoulder has decrased, i can raise it to a certain point, but then have to put a lot of effort in to get it fully above my head..
My main complaints are:
Pain when doing cretain movements,
Pain down arm as far as elbow,
Bad weakness in shoulder. upper arm,
Tenderness over shoulder joint
I know there is something done to my rotator cuff as my physio said their might be a tear of some sort but i am at a loss at the moment. I a waiting a call from a specialist but being from Ireland I could be waiting a while. Anyone with any input??
Very much appreciated, thanks!!
