Re: Post Surgery Pain

Yes, it is normal. Muscles can take 8-10 months to completely heal and the bone work that was done, can take a good 4-6 months to stop hurting. So this is normal.

But you have to start working the area to keep you from getting a frozen shoulder. Use your heat and ice and pain meds! It will get better.

I had similar surgery on both shoulders and it starts to really get better after 6-8 weeks post-op. But a long time to completely go away.

good luck..............Jenny

Re: Post Surgery Pain

I had shoulder surgery 3years ago for rotator cuff tendon repair, bicep tendon was stapled into my arm bone, scraping and other repairs. Was in PT for 6 months, then did exercise at home. Thought it was getting better, but then it started to get progressively worse. The pain level and range of motion is worse than before surgery. Now the doc says the only thing to do is have shoulder replacement surgery. Scares the hell out of me.
