tendon tear in shoulder, what to do?
i have been suffering from horrible pain in my shoulder for over 4 months now. i have a constant ache in it, and i wake up several times a night with screaming pain, its horrible.
i dont have health insurance, but go to a free clinic for the working uninsured, so things have been moving a little slow.
i finally had an mri which showed a tear in the tendon. the exact words in the reprt are: there's a large partial full thickness tear of the distal supraspinatus tendon with a moderate degree of fluid extending into thhe subacromial-subdeltoid bursa.
im waiting to see an orthopedic specialist, but am very curious as to what they might do? i am tired of suffering, it really stinks...
Re: tendon tear in shoulder, what to do?
Hi. It´s exactly like this. Maybe you´ve had also low backpain like me for x years after work. The tear is terribly painful because the vascular sack of the shoulder joint starts producing more fluid cause it senses something is wrong which presses onto nerves. OUCH!
You will have an operation and lots of exercising starting after 8 weeks. Make sure you follow exactly the advice of your PT. Buy a massagebench it is necessary for exercising the first years. The healing will go slowly and exercising is a must for healing. The good news is that it´ll heal. You are lucky my PT told me because it shows bloodflow has been really bad and you can go working on it now. So keep up the mood and make exercising part of your lifestyle. Hug! Andrés Hugo
