Need rotate cuff help

Had rotate cuff surgey six weeks ago..for complete torn and also shaved the bone. Been doing pt for the last four weeks. The problem is in the last three weeks I have been in pain....like someone is twisting my arm that at top of shoulder it hurts and shooting pain down to wrist and elbow very tender. The dr says I have tendentis. After a week on medicine I did a cortisone shot. But nothing happen...could this be more then tendentis? Had this happen to anyone else?
Thanks

Re: Need rotate cuff help

What kind PT did you have? Do you only get pain on activity?

Re: Need rotate cuff help

Here is what I think. At six weeks your shoulder is still healing and the capsule I'm sure has become tighter since being irritated by the operation. All joints have what are called joint play movements, for instance if you pull on your finger you pull the joint pull apart.
This is a joint play mopvement, a movement which you can't do except passivly by pulling. The shoulder is no different, it has ranges which can only be completed passivly. Until these movements are capable the normal gliding and rolling and spinning of the shoulder joint can't take place. So no move stretching and pulley work because the joint will act like a hinge until the joint play movements are done. So get the therapist to do these actions, they are passive, precise and should be all but pain free.
James
