I saw my dr again on thursday..and after seven weeks and medication for tenditis and cortisone shot. The dr now thinks I might RSD ..but he not sure. He thinks this because I have shotting pain. The pain feels like someone is twisting my shoulder ..the upper part. The pain is all the way down to my wrist and sometimes fingers.
I had rotate cuff torn and they shaved the bone. So now after no real answers..I am getting a second opinon.
My question is what does a dr do when you go for a second opinon?
Will they do their own mri?
One more thing I am seeing another shoulder specialist.

My experience with second opinions is that the doctor will review all previous procedures, xrays, MRIs, etc. Then if they feel there is cause for more testing they will order it. It depends on the doctor and, sadly, in some cases I think the insurance coverage. But please don't give up--this is your quality of life we're talking about. Seek answers and be persistent! Good luck!
