Hello. I have had a reoccuring pain in my shoulder for about 2 months now. The pain is in the muscle of my shoulder (which is normally tight most of the time) and it travels up the back of my neck and makes my back neck muscle hurt (achy and throbby).. and I also get a numbness in my thumb. I'm not quite sure what this is and i'm not sure how to treat it. I just went back to work after a week of relaxing vacation and thought that perhaps the pain would cease for now. But.. No, it did not. About 3 hours in to work on my first day back..the pain comes again. By the end of the day I am miserable. When I come home.. it's hard to lay down because it hurts.. it hurts when i put my arm in certain positions. Or when I do just about anything really.. it is even hurting me to type this right now. I was looking into it and I saw that perhaps I have a pinched nerve but I am not sure. Does anyone know what this perhaps may be or if a chiropractor would be able to diagnose or help this?
Also, For my job.. I am looking down a lot during the day..so i thought maybe that was causing it. Not sure though.
Hi Lala! Always you should turn to an "interested" PT to start with. There may be many causes for this. Even a worn out disk in your spine. PT teaches you to build power to strengthen you. See a PT and good luck!
Hi Janewhite. I feel especially well while planking, all 4 of them! (Belly up, belly down, sideways planking left and right arm) 4 minutes holding steady, then lifting feet 20x.
