| question about upper arm discomfort
I had ulnar nerve entrapment surgery in 07. Lately my 4th and 5th fingers have been going numb/tingling, the tell tale sign of an ulnar nerve problem. But this time it goes to the wrist, and even up the arm into the elbow area. Also at times I feel something up into the upper arm, on the inner area/medial side.
I occasionally feel aching at my shoulder during work doing certain motions but that is not the main problem, which is the now constant tingling/numbing/discomfort up my arm.
I went to the dr and he thinks two things are going on, the ulnar nerve but also rotator cuff tendinitis. He gave me a cortisone shot for that. I realized later I never specifically stated that the upper arm issue is always on the inside of the arm, he just got the generalized summary from the person taking notes, and heard "shoulder."
I was interested to know if anyone with rotator cuff problems has problems on the inside of the upper arm, or only the outside. I talked to one person at work who had rotator cuff surgery and he said it was only the outside, even when it did go down the arm.
I was thinking perhaps that inner arm is the ulnar nerve also and the rotator cuff tendinitis if there is the mild shoulder pain that it only some of the day, not the continual other troubles.
Thanks for any input.
