Question For those who have had shoulder replacements

I have been told I will need one at some point in the future due to arthritis. I have not researched the procedure yet, since this is most likely years away. For those who have had one:

1) how do they deal with other issues - biceps tears and tendonitis, labral tears (which I have) - and what happens to those structures?

2) Were you able to obtain full range of motion, and were you happy with the result?

3) What were the drawbacks, and would you recommend an alternative approach instead?

Thanks for any feedback!
