Nose problems

About a year and a half ago my husband had open heart surgery, and a few days after he came home he started having a burning pain inside his nose and it would crust up inside. This went on for a long time and he tried several different anti fungus creams and antibiotic creams in his nose. When he would go back to cardiologist to get checked for his heart, they wouldn't test his nose, just told him to go to a regular doctor for it. Since he doesn't have insurance, he never went to a doctor to see about it. I told him to take some of my doxycycline I had here, and it cleared up for awhile. Now it is back real bad. We think he might have gotten something from the tubes they put in your nose and down your throat while in surgery, but aren't sure. Has anyone out there had a problem with the nose like that, and if so, what was it? Thanx
