Stopping Zoloft... Help

I have been taking Zoloft for about 8 yrs now, I didn't to go off of it, it's been a week and a couple of days, I'm afraid of crashing. Does anyone think I would start to feel it by now. I also take ANAFRANIL (an OCD medicine).

I feel ok, but trying to take control of my anxiety.

I feel horrible that I've been on it for so dam long.

Any suggestions would help.

I was told stopping cold turkey is a no, no but hey you never now, if I could that.

THINK POSITIVE

Re: Stop of Zoloft

I was on zoloft for 8 years as well and came off of it at the end of this past january.

Now is your doctor reccomending that you go off Zoloft?

With my expierence with going off meds to flush out my system for 3 days I personally crashed miserably. It's dangerous to come off meds on your own without you doctors approvel on this. If Zoloft stopped working like it did for me after the same amount of yrs, tell your doctor and maybe they will try you on something else.

When I went off Celexa it was when I crashed, I was more anixiety ridden, depressed more, agitiated more , just feeling like crap basically, but now i'm currently on remeron and that has been a blessing, because now I feel great. I went on Celexa after Zoloft, and Celexa was making me feel crudy, that is when I went off of it because it was, decided to see how I was without meds, with the approval of my psychiatrist, and crashed big time. I think i'll always be on meds for the rest of my life, i've been on them since i was 16 and am now 24.

Don't feel bad for being on them long, it's good that they worked for you as long as they have been, not too many people have that sucess like you and I. Don't worry about it. If it has stopped working bring it up to your doctor, but do not take yourself off of them. Not with just Zoloft, but any medication.

Thinking postive does help, and stopping cold turkey like I said is no, too dangerous.
