Re: Murphy and anyone interested abut benzos

Mise,

I can only say again that I am not here to discuss the flaws or lack thereof in America and/or politics, but personal health issues. Most here do not want any more socialism in our system (majority rules), and I doubt this will change anytime soon. I need to consider other strategies, even though I could probably qualify for temporary state disability if worse came to worse. I am working on replacing anger and fear with hope, faith, and love. In the process I may prevent managable symptoms from becoming unmanageable.

You have been a big help, bringing words from yet another that has successfully tapered and worked, as well as good information on BP. As to Jennita, I have apologized for my role. Doubt she will be back anyway. Think I will take a leave from the thread myself for a spell. See you around. Kayleigh, see you on the "where does it end" thread.

P.S. I am better today.

Re: Murphy and anyone interested abut benzos

Ya know I never thought about it much till I began reading this thread. My doc has me on 0.5mg Clonazepam 3x a day. I'm assuming this is a benzo, right? I don't take them 3x a day, sometimes I go for 5-6 days before I take one. So from what you've all said it looks like I should keep taking them like this, only when I have the panic attacks. I'm already on so many addicting drugs from what I've read I sure don't need this..
Thanks,
bluej

Just get as much info as you can. Tpye benzodiazepine into google - it is all there.
If I can answer anything - please ask?
They are truly drugs from hell. Mind altering......... chemically mind changing - unlike opiates. Take great care. If you feel that you can do without them - then do so. The view is now that they should be used for anaesthesia only and not for anxiety or panic attacks.
But - dont listen to me - go and do lots of reading - its all there.
Good luck

Howard
If you have a moment - I would dearly like to know how your taper is going. Hope it is OK and not too gruelling. BP pal is still on hand to offer any advice which might be helpful.
BTW - dont be downhearted - there are lots of us out here who have recovered from taper - tend to disappear and just get on with life and leave that period of their lives as the "nightmare" years!
Thinking of you
