Blood Pressure and MS

My wife has been diagnosed with high blood pressure. She is on Plendil and water pill for the past two weeks. She is complaining of extreme fatigue and now is thinking she has symptoms of MS - because of the "spells" of fatigue she is feeling, combined with numbness in the arms and legs that comes and goes - in addition to a burning sensation on her skin (all symptoms of MS apparently).

QUESTION: Has anyone had high blood pressure as a symptom of MS? She has only felt the fatigue since starting the BP meds. I suspect it's the meds. She worries it's MS. BTW - her blood pressure has come down over the last two weeks to 129/90, from a high of 225/110 and still has the symptoms of MS.

I'm on two types of blood pressure medications and all I wanted to do was sleep when I started each one of them. They can really make you sluggish when you first take them. It lasted from two weeks to a month as I recall. I would call the pharmacist or doctor to be sure.

Did the fatigue come and go, or was it constant for the first month?

Re: Blood Pressure and MS

Sorry it took me so long to reply. I've been helping my son and DIL move into the house across the street.

My fatigue was constant during that time. All I wanted to do was lie on the couch and sleep. It was horrible because I'm not a lazy person.

Does she have any edema from it too? That can also cause pain. Beta-blockers can cause edema and fatigue.
