Have you heard of Prometrium?

It's a progesterone pill. It's supposed to help with menopause and sleep. I've never heard of it and was wondering if anyone had.

My internist rx'd it for me today. He also ordered a sleep study and has already scheduled it for the 17th.

He has agreed to give me the meds I was getting from the pain doc and the rhummy, so I only have one doc to see now! We'll see how that works out.

Hi Barb. I had to take Prometrium during my first trimester of pregnancy due to low progesterone. It did make me extremely sleepy, so I guess it makes sense that your doc would prescribe it to help with sleep. Did he/she do any blood tests to see if you had a hormone imbalance before prescribing it? Just curious. Hope it helps you!!

Yes, he did do blood work, and I am deficent in hormones and minerals. He didn't tell me to but I bought liquid minerals too. Maybe something will help!

It's nice to know it's supposed to make you sleepy!
