Hey... I'm on aviane, which day while on your active pills do you get your period?
I take Aviane and I get my period on the Tuesday of the green pills.
Hope that helps!

Angry Re: Generic form of Alesse?

I just would like to comment that I was on loestrin fe and decided for economically reasons to go to the generic junel well I tried that for three months and it sure was hell, i had spotting and bleeding for 2 weeks each month...I am starting back on the loestrin fe and this is only the 2 week and I am cramping really bad due to the fact that I am trying to readjust.. Generics are not the same as the brand - I was told that too but apparently my body couldnt adjust correctly to the generic and it screwed me up...

Re: Generic form of Alesse?

Generics are exactly the same, just cheaper. If you look next to the name Aviane, Allese, whatever, it will tell you the name of the estrogen/progestin and the amount. The hormones are the same. Don't get duped by the drug companies who try to make you think the flashy brand-name is better. Such a rip off. Marketing folks always rely on the public's unfounded trust of "brand" names. Remember doctors and pharmacists do get free vacactions and incentives to push these brands instead of the generics.

im not sure if its the same where you live but here in canada i know that when u buy generic medications, there is a 20% leway that they manufactuer can have....thats 20% more meds or 20% less meds in each pill...i learned this when i had surgery for an infection and i had to have a certian amount of meds and the doc told me to make sure i get the real stuff and not the generic for that very reason. so be careful when choosing generic meds!!

Re: Generic form of Alesse?

Yeah ok it has been a long time since anyone has replied to this thread, but I would like to add that my gynecologist recommended that I use the brand name of alesse and not the generic form due to the greater number of side effects that showed up in those patients of hers who had taken the generic form.
