Angry Re: accutane?

I feel your pain .. Myself as well have been dealing with acne since I was twelve (28 now) and it seems like its getting worse by the minute. I've tried everything that you could think of. Ive spent about 2000.00 on different products and Ive also spent about 650.00 going to a uppity Skinklinic in Newyork city on 5th Ave. I had a enzyme facial, Ive had glycolic treatment I had microdermabrasion, Ive was prescribed Benzaclin which costed an extra 95.00. My new Derm prescribed Benzamycin. What makes it so bad that I have the front desk in my office so im always the first thing people see. Its really hurtfull when people ask you all day what happened to your face. It seemed liked the more I try all these things the worse my face has gotten. They say it could be genetic (No One in my family has it but me!!!) Im just about ready to give up and try accutane but I hear its no good at all. If you do decide to use it please let me know . Best wishes on finding what works.
Just think of me as the bumpy faced newyorker.

Re: accutane?

Hey guys. First post.

So I went to the derm today and I'm finally getting Accutane...After the results from a cyst biopsy come back. I guess the doctor just wants to check one more thing out that may be a cause to my acne--a type of yeast infection that a very rare few are allergic to that can cause acne.

I have moderate chest acne and although I understand the doctor wanting to check this notion out since my chest acne is so odd, it seems a little farfetched to me. Maybe I'm just getting fed up with all the antibiotics, creams, etc. I just desperately want the magic pill ASAP.

So hopefully this biopsy will turn out negative so I can get the Accutane. I am really looking forward to how it will make my appearance change. I am physically good looking and don't have much acne on my face, but I do have clogged pores on my nose and forehead that I'm really looking forward to getting wiped out. The idea of pore shrinking is also something that also makes me giggle like a little girl.

So yeah. The bad thing about this biopsy thing is that I have to wait ten days for results. I was hoping to get on Accutane before school starts because if there is an initial break-out then at least I won't have to be at school.

But I guess once my skin is smooth and silky nobody will remember the old me anyway. I am really getting excited.

Sunshine Day

Re: accutane?

well, not to burst your bubble, but it wont be smooth and silky while your on accutane, at least for a while . itll be dry and peeling and probably red...so be careful. i suggest you read up more on it...its a big decision..
