Phil will clonidine help for a few days?

Yeah the withdrawals are kicking my butt right now and I really need to be bright eyed and bushy tailed come Monday. You mentioned the clonidine patch. Is clonidine addictive? Are there any bad side effects to it if I use it for about five days? I really believe that in about 10 days I will be fine but right now I feel like total dogmeat.

If you can advise me on the clonidine patch that would be great.

There are many here who swear by Clonidine and say it actually did very, very well at suppressing the pain with withdrawal. It comes in patch and pill form. I used pills and it’s not nearly as effective as the patch. If you can call your doc or see your doc and get a patch prescribed I think it would be a great help to you. Benedryl will help also with sleep! I did so much research that I did a great job of educating my Dr. I told him and showed him and documented my research and plan. If you do a WEB search on Clonidine you will find many reference and information about how this blood pressure med is used in the aid of reducing withdrawal symptoms. Hope that help my friend!

I called my doc and she just called in the patch, I had to insist on it. She does not like using it because she says that there can be problems with it in that it can spike up your blood pressure. But I'm off to pick it up at the pharmacy. I really needed something I am feeling awful.

RD;

Good news, congrats. Just so you know, the patch will take about 6-8 hrs to be start being absorbed into your skin and body. Very much like the duragesic patch used by cancer and extreme Chronic pain patients. So don' be discouraged after and hour or two, it will take more time but it does work much better. Benedryl for sleep, water, food, exercise. You're on your way my friend. You are almost there!!!!!

P.S. - Actually not sure the blood pressure would spike, it may go low, that’s what they told me as it is a med to reduce blood pressure. I was already on BP meds at the time so I stopped using the Diovan I was on and just used the Clonidine pills. It will make you tired as some BP meds do which was fine with me lol

Be good man and raise your hand or check in so we know how your going.

Pillster gave you good advice, may I add Noxalex 50mg damn I may have speeled it wrong? Its a Opiate blocker that worked great with the Clonidine patch. I went 30 days on both and came out smelling like a Rose after a 2 yr. 20 10mg habit.

I hope you apologized to chef though? I lurk a ton and that man has been huge 2 alot of peeps on this board, you did come accross a bit crass with him in a previous post.

Good luck, Chet
