Question Yasmin & Cystic Acne Question

To you ladies on Yasmin:

If you have cystic acne, how has Yasmin worked for you? I always break out with cystic acne about a week before my period (about 3-6 nasties at a time) plus the usual smaller stuff, but I heard that after the 6th month on Yasmin that things really start looking up. Can I really look forward to these cystic breakouts lessening now? I just started my 7th month pack so I'm hoping to see better results. Out of all the posts, Yasmin seems to have the best rep for clearing acne, so I hope it works. Otherwise, is there other birth control pills that might work better (Besides Ortho Tri-Cyclen).? Or maybe that Spiro stuff (I don't know that much about it)? Thanks, guys!

Re: Yasmin & Cystic Acne Question

Spiro is good I agree that Yasmin is best for acne, but since I had too many side effects I switched to Desogen and my skin is fine. Yasmin is anti-androgenic, Desogen (and Cyclessa and Mircette) are non-androgenic, and the rest are slightly to quite a bit androgenic as far as progestins go...

Re: Yasmin & Cystic Acne Question

Yasmin's great! I've tried 4 other types of birth control pill and this is the only one I haven't been allegic too. Clears up my skin great!
