Friend Chris, How are you doing?

Hey friend,

I was wondering if the Wellbutrin has kicked in yet. You are at a good dosage and it usually takes around two to three weeks before you will really know if it helps. It is a gradual proccess, others will notice you are doing better before you realize it yourself. If you use tobacco, might want to try and quit. It helps to eliminate the Nic. craving.

They have a new one just out that shows great promise. It is called Cymbalta and was released August 30. They claim it is a softer effexor but souped up and even helps with pain and the cravings of opiates. May be a breakthrough but the verdict is out.

With all you have been through , I don't see how you even get out of bed. I admire you very much and have been such a inspiration to me. If I can ever help in anyway just say the word,

hang in there,

Re: Friend Chris, How are you doing?

Hi Chris,

I'm so sorry that you are going through so much. You seem to be such a kind soul which is obviously why your ex won't leave you alone. She knows what she's losing out on. You were so good to her and she does that to you? Of course you will be able to trust again. I've been through it a few times already. Men can be such heels, ya know?

Anyhow, some wonderful person will be waiting for you , but you must heal yourself first! Physically and mentally first.

Now on the seroquel, the addictionologist gave me that for sleep. Let me forewarn you that I took one in the evening and it just made me extremely sleepy and tired the next day. Like a zombie. It was awful. I believe its a CV classification? Anyway, don't take it for sleep. You're better off with the your doctor upping the trazodone hs for sleep.

I hate to sound like Jack La Lane about exercise, but it does help tremondously with depression. You should know that by having a medical background. They do say that it is an immediate anti-depressant. I will have to agree because it helps so much. Sometimes, I don't know how I would have survived without it...

Take care and love from Cali

Re: Friend Chris, How are you doing?

Over,

I need your thoughts and imput. As you know I live in a world with Chronic pain and depression. I had the depression before the pain and around 7 years total. I deal with depression everyday some mild and some severe. It has never left me only for a short time when I first started the opiates. The opiates brought my pain level down and also finally lifted my spirits with the false Euphoria.

I have tried many AD's over the years from all classes without success. I have sorta been labeled Treatment Resistant. I have studied and researched everything from Burn's Feeling Good Handbook to Vagus Nerve Stimulation.

However, You mention two drugs that I have researched before but never tried. One is the seroquel and the other is trazodone. I considered the trazodone but it carries a side affect to men that I will not mention in detail.
It 's high risk to cause this small ( maybe not the best word LOL) problem to last over 4 hours and you have to go to the ER. Do you think it is such a good sleep aide to be worth the risk? The male doc's I have went would never prescribe it to me, however, the female doctor did give me a script when I first started the Sub. I never filled it.

I have real hope in the new AD Cymbalta that was releases on August 30. The verdict is out but I have only heard good things.

I am on a Remeron/Effexor mix right now but to no avail. I should probably go ahead and get off the Effexor but I hate those electrical shocks you get for weeks after getting off.

any advice apreciated,
fisherman

Re: Friend Chris, How are you doing?

Hi Fisherman I already posted to you on a another thread before I read this. My doctor has refered to me as treatment resistant in notes that I had to give to my job about being out of work. I have to have some kind of contact with my job every two weeks. I was going to go back on sept 18 but have since found out my husband wouldnt be adverse to me going back a little later so I will probably go back oct2nd. Also with the trazodone my husband has been on it for about eight years. He was prescribed it by his first doctor who later died and he is prescribed it by his current doctor. Both these doctors are men. The trazodone has help so much with his sleep. I am trying to get off zprexa and have tried trazodone for sleep. It doesnt seem to work for me but for my husband it has almost been a wonder drug. Btw he has never had the small problem lol that you mentioned. Talk to you later or tomorrow. Your friend Carly

Re: Friend Chris, How are you doing?

Carley,

Thanks for the laugh...

I used to be on Zyprexa for a long period of time. It was a pretty low dosage mainly for sleep. I was on 2.5 - 5 mg for about a year. Be a little prepared because it took about two weeks for me to feel better after getting off it. Do a good slow taper. I my give that small problem drug a try.LOL

your good friend,
