A resiliant infection or something else?

Okay. Can someone please tell me what this is. A little over a week ago I went to the doctor with two problems. One was dental, but the other wasn't. The dental problem seems to be at least temporarily taken care of. It is the other problem that concerns me. I went to the doctors because I had a gum infected behind a wisdom tooth, but I also had what I thought was a non dental infection. I figured since they were both infections, I'd just go to a regular doctor and get some antibiotics for both. Well, I had noticed that the back of my throat was sort of white or yellow colored. I had some mucus drainage, also, but that wasn't too weird. I saw what I assumed was a big blister or two on one side of my throat. Well the doctor looked in my throat and mouth and gave me antibiotics for the gum, but didn't think there was anything wrong with my throat. I showed my mother after leaving and asked if she saw the thing I thought of as a blister. She did. It is fairly big. However, I looked at my throat again and while I could still see the place, I found that if I moved my tounge or mouth or something a certain way the view was obstructed so maybe he didn't notice it. I thought the whitish yellow color would have struck him as odd, but no matter, he had given me antibiotics, right? Well, the weird thing is I also noticed some little tiny bumps on my uvula of all things. They were so tiny, though. I am not surprised the doctor missed them. I mentioned this to my boyfriend who looked in my mouth and he said he thought he could see the little bumps I mentioned, on my uvula. He also saw the bump on the back of my throat. And he mentioned the color of my throat and mouth too. I thought the antibiotics would take care of things, but I have finished the medicine and while my gum seems to no longer be infected, everything else seems to be no better off. The bump that I thought was a blister is still there. So is the wierd coloration. Infact, I think the color may be a bit worse. The soft palate of the roof of my mouth is colored seemingly worse than before. It is still weird colored on my throat also. The bumps on my uvula, while still small, seem more noticeable, but maybe I am just imagining that they are easier to see now. They are there though. Also, something else has happened. You see, about a year ago, I noticed that on the soft palate of the roof of my mouth I could feel what felt like little grainy things on the skin there. When I got sick once before, they became really noticeable to the eye because they turned red. They are always there, but they usually blend in with the roof of my mouth visually, although I can feel them with my tounge and fingertips. Well, now they are really red again. I don't know what they are, but I know they got red when I was sick before. I am confused. This seems like an infection, so why didn't the medicine work? It was a type of amoxicillin. Actually, I think it was generic trimox. It was 125 mg and 20 pills. Is this a resilliant infection or is it something else? I had bloodwork done at the doctors for other reasons. One was a CBC with differential, one was a thyroid test, and one was a CMP. I called the office later to ask how the tests were and they simply told me that everything was fine. If I had an infection, you'd think the test results would show something. Hmmmmm..... Also, I have felt weak lately, but the blood tests were good. Could be a vitamin deficieny though, I suppose. Well, thanks for the input.

No they didn't. He ( doctor ) didn't seem to think anything was wrong with my throat, but everyone else who's seen it can tell something is wrong. I figured the generic trimox I took would cure a strep throat. You'd think so, wouldn't you? Maybe it is strep, though, & it just managed to survive the meds somehow.

I think it's thrush (yeast) from taking the antibiotics. Can you remove them with a q-tip?

You could ask for some nistatin oral preparation and you might want to consider taking acidophilus which will help balance the good bacteria in your digestive tract (mouth included)...because the antibiotics and infection can get that all out of whack.

just a thought
