Re: Vulva Biopsy

LIsa

I'm sorry I made it sound like my only concern was sex.Yes I am very scared about all the other aspects, especially dying. These were just questions that could be answered from someone else. My other concerns I think need to be delt with on an inner level, when and if the time comes. Thank you very much for the support and I will post tomorrow with the results. thanks again

Re: Vulva Biopsy

Well I got my results today and its not cancer or precancerous cells It is though Lichen Sclerosis, I don't know much about it yet. MY dr said he was very surprised at the results, said he usually only see this is post menopausal women. Hes referring my to a dermatologist. I just feel so relieved, although LS has its problems. Thanks so much for the support.

Re: Vulva Biopsy--HELP

HI ladies
about a month ago I started to have symptoms of a bladder infection, the burning upon urinating and I was also having intense internal vaginal itching. I went to see the doctor who said my culture for a UTI came back normal, and gave me Macrobid and sent me on my way. Well five days later I was still having the burning and itching so I wnet back in and the doctor gave mne Diflacan and said to use Monistat, so I did. Well 6 days later I felt the same so I went back in and told her I wanted an exam and pap to see what was going on. So she gave me one, pap came back fine, and she said I had a yeast infection, and said use Monistat and sent me on my way.
Well a few dyas later things were the same, so I went back to another doctor and he did yet another exam and pap, both were normal, and he said my urethra is a bit irritated and gave me some cream for it and sent me on my way. After three days I have had enough so I went in to a gynecologist(had to get a referal because I am a military dependent) so I went in and she said my hymen is torn and thickened a little, well that is basically where the itching is at. So she did a biopsy and told me we will know something in a week. I do have HPV, I was diagnosed with it in late 1998, I have had frequent paps and pelvics which all came back since then.
I do not know if my symptoms are related and I am having a flare up or what.
The biopsy she tok was of some inner hymen tissue.
If anyone has had my symptoms, let me know and what did you do for them?
I have been tested for every STD and I have nothing but HPV.

Please help me ladies, I have three little ones at home and this has gone on for too long.

Re: Vulva Biopsy

Kristin,
I am glad you are insisting on treatment of this. Some things you can do while waiting for results are start taking multi vits and eating foods higher in antioxidants like broccoli and tomatoes. Only wear cotton white underwear, Use all soaps , detergents and fabric softener that are dye and fragrance free. Soak in warm bath each night, don't use any bubble bath or oils. HPV can cause vulvar dysplasia just as it can cause cervical dysplasia so I am very glad your doc is on top of it. Please ask if you have any other questions and let me know how things turn out. I am Lisa/32 mom of 2. I had part of my vulva removed in April due to severe vulvar dysplasia. If I can help you at all please let me know. I belong to a wonderful on-line group of women who have gone thru much of this. Good luck to you Kristin.
