Update

Went to see ENT this morning. Definately bad sinus infection. He has put me on Ceftin for 3 weeks along w/Prednisone to try once again to get the swelling down. He wants to repeat a CTscan here in 2 weeks to see what is going on and i may have to have surgery again depending upon what the CTscan says. He says that it may be time to talk about more intense treatment for me if i don't get better. Also, no more irrigating!!! Told him how the sinus rinse hurts more than help and he wants me to stop. Says that saline should not make me more sensitive and inflame me more, so we'll see. So,for now antibiotics again and steroid. Good thing is it has been a while since I've taken anything(6 months) so I don't feel like taking stuff will hurt me more than help me at this point.

Re: Update

Halls,

how about trying the SinuNeb system (nebulizer for delivering antibiotics to the sinuses)? It is more effective than oral antibiotics.

Another option is IV antibiotics -this, too is more effective.

Ceftin should be fine. But I would stay away fom floroquinolones (Avelox, Levaquin, Cipro). i still haev nerve damage in my elbows and feet from that crap.

Re: Update

I'm allergic to Cipro, so can't take it anyways. And the SinuNeb I may take if this does not work.
