This is wack!

Ok, so my ear is popping a lot today, and not sure if it is making me worse, or better. My jaw is also popping a lot next to my ear, but i have a slipped disc in my jaw so I'm used to that. But my ear is weird! It actually hurts a little when it does pop. I think it has lot to do w/the Prednisone and the Ceftin. I'm still just as dizzy. I had to leave the house tonight to go to store and run other errands and got dizzier. I swear the dust and pollins just make their way into my sinus passages so easliy and because I'm so sensitive they just swell so fast. GGGRRRR! My ENT actually said that he recommends people like me wear a mask when their out of the house to keep stuff out of their nose. LOL! He said mose don't because it is annoying and embaressing, but he did say that if I really want to get better I should think about doing that. Yeah right, can you imagine me out an about w/a surgeon mask on? What would y'all do?

Re: This is wack!

prednisone is a funny drug. for me my strangest symptom is my bright red cheeks I get while taking it(and let me tell you- I NEVER blush- I have no red undertones to my skin)lol.. anyways sounds like the wonderful condition eustachian tube dysfunction.. ya notice how the more your ears hurt, the more dizzy you are? yup their all connected. doesn't it suck? for me sudafed severe congestion, flonase & clarinex are enough to get me through the day, though sometimes I need some extra "boosts" like a benadryl at nite, another nasal spray, singulair, etc. prednisone can make you dizzy b/c of how it messes with your blood sugar. i'm assuming you are on a low dose if you are able to go out- my average dose is 60mg per day & that keeps me dead in bed hehe, no energy, can't eat- mad acid reflux, dizzy, naueasos, all around SICK! but i'm sure it can have effects like that at lower doses.
as far as the ceftin goes, i'm sure that also can make you kinda icky also.
but most likely your dizziness is from your ETD.

Re: This is wack!

Halls,

did they ever do any extensive ear testing? An MRI?

I've always thought my ears are a bit abnormal. Almost like ETD, or trapped pressure, etc. But everytime I bring it up, my ENT just shrugs it off.

I had a hearing test, and my hearing is fine.

In addition to all your sinus nonsense, you may want to have your ears checked out more.

I've noticed that since the weather has gotten colder here in Chicago (between 50-70 degrees), my sinus have improved a LOT, especially my allergies. They were at the worst in late July, early August, with all the humidity, dust, pollution, etc.

You live in Texas right? The weather is probably not doing you any favors.

Re: This is wack!

Yes, had my hearing tested and there was some hearing loss in my left ear, which is the one that pops a lot. I am suppose to have it retested, but haven't done so yet.

I did have the MRI and accoriding to the ENT and Neuroligist, it looked normal. I have told my ENT that my ear pops, but he does seem to shrug it off like yours. I am getting another CTscan in a week or so(waiting for insurance to schedule) and I'm hoping this one will show something more than what the last one showed.

Ya know, this dizziness started w/ an really bad allergy attack and a sinus infection. I remember the morning I woke up feeling like my head had swelled up and I was dizzy from then on out. However, to rule more things out I do think I am going to see Dentist that specializes in TMJ. My jaw pops a lot, and puts pressure on my left ear which also pops. I do feel this is all sinus related, but i just want to rule out anything I can. There is a ezboard for dizziness and there are all sorts of people there that are dizzy for different reasons. What is weird is there is one gal that started getting dizzy exactly how I did, she also remembers what set it off and how it started. Strange! But anyhow, it is a interesting site and from just reading about these peoples lives I have gained much knowledge on the subejct.

Anyways, at this point I just want the dizzy's to go away. It is such a strange thing to feel like my head is going to fall off my shoulers all the time, even when I'm laying down. I am taking Lexapro for depression/anxiety now as this has put me in a state of anxiety all the time. It does help me relax and not think about this so much. I continue to take it until this is gone, if ever it will be gone.

Really? I'm finding the weather here in Chicago is making me even more miserable- the worst is when we need to turn on the heat in the mornings(cuz it's so cold you don't want to get out of bed lol) & I wake up super congested & have morning asthma attacks cuz it stirs up the dust.. it sucks. Then comes in the fact that it's ragweed season & my 2 biggest triggers are ragweed & dust.
I was told everyone with ETD would show some degree of hearing loss, I do have some minor hearing loss & do get fluid when i'm doing badly- which leads to big time dizziness, the kind where you can't get out of bed b/c your so nauesoueas.
I was thinkin about transferring down to texas for college, my parents said the hot & dry air would be great for me.. am I wrong?
