High estrogen birth control=heavier periods?

I just have a random question. Do higher dose estrogen birth control pills make you have a heavier flow? My doctor gave me Ovral (high estrogen pill) to help make my period lighter. But my gynocologist put me on a different pill...she said Ovral can make your periods HEAVIER. Is this true?

Estrogen is what builds up the lining. But I think it also depends on how strong the progestin is?
