Re: Tell your story!!!

I get dermabrasions every 6-8 months, usually 3-4 treatments every week. My skin gets really sensitive after that, and I have to wear plenty of sun screen. But it clears up my skin for a month or two, and pores looks much better after that.

Re: Tell your story!!!

"CEe-LoViCiOuS", you can get microdermabrasion and chemical peels at some dermatologists that provide the procedures, or at a beauty salon. I would suggest that you only go to a dermatologist office though since they seem to be much more knowledgeable, especially when it comes to acne and scars. For the dermabrasion you would need to go to a plastic surgeons office, since it is a much more series procedure.

"pigletJen", are you talking about dermabrasion or microdermabrasion, they are two very different procedure. Dermabrasion costs around $2,500 per treatment. Just wanted to know if you got the two confused.

Re: Tell your story!!!

32 going on 17, male. had mild acne since 21. just typed this three page response and lost it. DAMN! so this one is going to be short.

check The Body Shop's "Tea Tree Oil" product line [ removed ]. Specifically for oil and blemish control. I used the scrub. Works well. I went and picked up the cleansing gel, pure tea tree and wipes. i may have gone overboard. too much irritation. i'll let you all know what worked and didn't.

I've been on benzaclin for almost a year. works decent but bleaches the heck out of pillow cases, sheets, comforters, shirts, etc. use with caution. my wife is mad at me now for ruining her comforter.

what i always notice with people with perfect skin is this, their skin is DRY. Not oily! I read one post about Aldactone orally for oil control? Anyone try this?

NIVEA also has a new oil control cleansor. Works well.

Nivea, Tea Tree Scrub and benzaclin. We'll see. Tea Tree Scrub says only twice a week.

I noticed too that the oceans salt water helps clear my skin up. need to find a way to have it delivered to my house. good business opp.

anyone know of any oral treatments to treat oily skin?

mark

Re: Tell your story!!!

I just started to use an 11% glycolic acid toner, and it has made a big difference in my skin. It isn't a "peel", but it seems to work a gently over time. I would recommend it to those who may be afraid to try a peel but are willing to wait a little longer for the results.

Re: Tell your story!!!

i have never had acne breakout in my entire life.. yah, i had my share of blackheads and whiteheads that my dermatologist can quickly remove.. but just now (when am already at my mid-20s) that i had a breakout.. and its really a hassle.. my dermatologists tells me its due to hormonal imbalance.. my job requires alot of interaction with people.. i get self-concious and literally lowered my self-esteem.. right now am on medication and am on my 2nd week.. but i feel like nothing has changed.. am using acne bar soap in the morning then dub with erythromycin solution then acne gel (panoxyl).. then at night, acne bar soap.. erythromycin solution then tretinoin gel.. then doxycycline once a day.. it does dry up the cystic breakout.. but it leaves a very unsightly red mark.. will that clear up soon? is there any medication that clears up such marks?

and it doesnt break out all at once!.. after an acne has dried up then the other pops out.. its irritating.. especially for a person who hasnt deal with acne until now..

could you suggest a quickest regimen for acne, like a week procedure or something?

am desperate!
