My father worked in a butcher shop and lived on meat, no carbs. My one grandfather lived on sugar and never had a pimple and neither did any of his kids,

just a comment on chaging your diet to eliminate acne: don't expect a change in your acne overnight, in a few weeks or even a few months. years of eating "bad" food and the effects on your health are not reversible in such a short period of time. based on my personal experience it took about 5 months from when i changed by diet (nearly eliminating all simple carbs, sweets, and dairy).

i'm a firm believer in the diet/acne connection, but i wasn't always. in my early 20s (i'm now in my late 20s) i tried changing my diet a few times but would only do it for about a week or two. i was expecting immediate results. also, i wasn't eliminating all the the right foods (i eliminated fast and greasy food, but still consumed a lot of bread, dairy and sweets.)

BTY HFCS is a refined carbohydrate, how in the world do you think it is processed?

Openseason,

So your dad only ate meat. No seafood (?), fruits, vegetables, beans, dairy or grains? Maybe you'll grow out of it around that time that he did ;-)

Also, WHAT have you tried to eliminate your acne? You love to refute even the tiniest hole you think you can find, but you don't offer anything that gives any of us an idea of what you've gone through. If you've noticed, I don't believe that diet is the only answer, I believe in a variety of methods, so what are yours?

Furthermore, did any of you notice that when we treat our acne it is a result of the following methods:
Non-pore clogging skin care

Avoidance of allergens

Cleansing/Flushing of toxins

Anti-inflammatories (antibotics, benzoyl peroxide, zinc, glucocorticoids)

Exfoilants (glycolic, salicylic acid, retinoids)

Fat Metabolizers - B5 Therapy, NAC, Fish Oil, Fiber (Glucomannon), Guggul, Low Saturated Fat Diet, Avoidance of Trans Fats, etc

Anti-androgens - Retinoids (accutane, retinA, Isoterx, azelex), Estrogen, Spironolactone, Flutamide, Glucocorticoids (select cases), Insulin Sensitizers, Folic Acid, Green Tea, Saw Palmetto, etc
