Re: Mineral Makeup problems!

It doesn't cause problems for everyone - just some people. There are a lot of ladies who swear by Cory & other lines that have a lot of titanium dioxide. That's what I meant when I said you just have to try different lines - they're not all the same - and everyone is different, so their skin will react differently to the different lines. You can certainly try the Alpha Skin Care - you may not have the same problems that I did. But I found that the coverage was very similar to Cory - and I had the same issues - it was very difficult to remove all of the foundation from my skin (when they say it's waterproof, they mean it! LOL!), and I got little bumps on my face (not blackheads or pimples, but just little bumps), I noticed I got a few small breakouts that I don't normally get, and my skin would get dry & flaky in spots. Since nothing else in my skincare had changed, I knew it had to be the foundation. Sure enough, a couple of weeks after stopping it, my skin was back to normal.

Oh - and my skin in normally slightly oily, a little sensitive, & acne-prone.

Re: Mineral Makeup problems!

LOL - you'll laugh at all the things I do!! Besides the normal cleansing, in the evenings, I apply a 2% BHA product, a copper peptide product, an oil mix that I make myself, & another oil around my eyes. In the mornings, I just rinse with warm water, then I apply a 2% salicylic acid (BHA) serum (different from the one I use in the evening), a DMAE/Vit. C serum, my oil mix, & sunscreen. I do a glycolic acid peel once a week, home microdermabrasion 1-2 times/week, and Renova every other night.

It sounds like a lot, but I've been doing it for so long, that it's just second nature. It doesn't take long at all to do.

Oh, I forgot - I also take a high-potency B vitamin daily, along with evening primrose oil, flaxseed oil, Vit. E, Vit. C, CoQ10, & zinc.

Re: Mineral Makeup problems!

That just seems like way too much stuff to put my face. I never have reacted well when I try to use a million different products. I am better if I keep things simple. What is your 2% BHA product? Brand? I would consider that. BHA's are supposed to be excellent.

Re: Mineral Makeup problems!

Well, you have to consider age, too - I'll be 43 on Monday, so I need more products than I did when I was younger.
However, I will say that my skin is in better condition now than when I was younger. I went through a lot of products before I came up with the routine that is best for me. Each product has a different function, so it works well.

I use Paula's Choice 2% BHA solution. She also has a couple in a 1%, but I think they are a "lotion" (just meaning that they are thicker & probably more appropriate for someone with normal-dry skin).
