Re: Bowel Movement

I don't think you need to be concerned, but it may be good to look at your diet. Are you taking any meds that cause constipation? Do you have constipation? I am sure you know, but here are good foods:
Apples, Whole Wheat, lettuce, water, walking, caffeine and many more. I didn't realize this but if you eat broccoli, it can cause painful gas along with the other foods that do as well. If you want to help yourself become more regular, you can try stool softners. I am on pain meds right now, so I am a bit different, but I have to take two a night. Good luck!

Re: Bowel Movement

Thanks for the response. I never thought about this but I am on lopressor for my heart, that was beating too fast after surgery. No constipation. It very well could be from my diet, I will start to eat things that will help me with my movements. Thanks you so much again!

Re: Bowel Movement

I used to have the same problem, a really horrible case of it. Then I found that taking acidophilus supplements pretty much cured it!!

Look in the probiotics section of your health food store - ask a clerk if you can't find it. There should be several brands available. There should also be books about probiotics and which ones are best. But just get started on taking them if you haven't! This is not a medication; this is something your body needs to keep your gut in good health. It's very easy for your bowel to get off balance, and very difficult to get it back in balance.

Keep the probiotics in the fridge and take them every day for a few months, at least, and you should see a change. Whenever you take antibiotics, make sure you take probiotics afterward for at least a week or two to restore intestinal flora. Fiber won't help much if you don't have these "beneficial bacteria" in your body.
