Bi-lateral edema - HELP!!!!

My husband has bilteral edema of the lower extremities. He has been hospitalized for 6 days.....runing all kinds of test. The doctors could not find the cause of his edema. We were sent to the Mayo Clinic, spent 5 days there, with no more answers than before. The Mayo told us thay know what its not....his heart, his kidneys and any muscular disease. We have another appoinment after christmas with a vascular surgeon to see if it is lymphatic edema. In the mean time his hands are now swelling. Has anyone heard of anything like this? From Desperate wife!!!

Re: Bi-lateral edema - HELP!!!!

Is your husband on bloodpressure medications? If so, some of them can cause swelling. Norvasc is one I personally know about, my legs swell big time and so does my hands.
