Body hair/hormone pills ???

Thanks ladies since theres no getting naked, maybe I'll go to one.....I could do w/out the getting weighed thing but its obvious that im not 110 lbs so I guess I'll have to suck it up ...but if they send in some 90 lb nurse to weigh me , somebodys gonna get hurt

Are endocrinologists at regular hospitals?. Also, If I get diagnosed with Pcos, and they put me on medication, will that help w/ the excess hair? It's such a pain in the butt. I mean all the other symptoms are too but Im currently on a diet n losing some weight so that part is okay, but the hair thing needs to go

Believe me I am not 110 pounds either...I WISH !!!! As for what the Metformin is used for??/ I think it is stricktly for insulin resistance. I have heard of people even loosing weight on this med...but time will tell. Everyones body is different.

As for the facial hair?? I don't know if it helps that. I think the BC Pill is "Suppose Too" help that aspect, but no luck with me !! I actualy have to shave my chin and mustache , and also from my bellybutton down and even around my nipple area every day !! My OB deals with Lazer Surgery and he told me that he is bring in Lazer Hair removals to his practice. So he said he would take care of that for me !!!!

Vaniqa is great for unwanted hair. And spironolactone has slowed down the growth GREATLY for me.

What is Vaniqa and spironolactone? ....is it something you can buy?(totally clueless), and if so, where at, and about how much does it cost?

Both are prescription. Spiro has generics so its pretty cheap. It is a diuretic used for years for high blood pressure. They discovered it binds to testosterone and helps hair problems and acne. Incidentally, I lost 12 pounds on it All water of course, but still... And I have to shave my legs less too! Vaniqa is expensive and a lot of insurance companies consider it cosmetic and don't cover it. I'm lucky, mine covers half. But its still $50 a tube! It is a cream that you apply to unwanted hair. Its only approved for face but my endocrinologist and dermatologist both say it is fine to use anywhere.
