Re: Air Hunger

Zoloft is an antidepressant .. perhaps they are looking at calming you down to avoid panic attacks??

Cheers

Re: Air Hunger

phoebe20, u hit it on the nose , I feel as though i can breath in but that i cant let the air out feels like my lungs are going to explode from to much air in em , it keeps me awake at nite , and if ui do get to sleep it wakes me up everynite , its frustrating. doc had me on prednesone for 7 days and i was like a new person, i didnt fight for air 1 time while on it, i asked him to keep me on it but he said he wouldnt so he gave me a script for azmacort ( steroid inhaler ) unfortunitly i have no insurance and to be honest i cant afford the 98.00 it cost at the moment, i could however afford to pay for the prednisone $7.00 for a 7 day supply, so i guess im back to the sleepless nites and unable to do things i enjoy.. BTW im female 37 years old. any ideas that might help me to relax enough to get a desent breath?
any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Air Hunger

Recently I started some new meds and then I began to sense the air hunger. I thought it was the new meds but after a week without the meds the air hunger continues. However, in my location this fall/winter has been very mild until a few weeks ago and then the temperature dropped and the humidity along with it. I measured the humidity in the house and it was 25%. Since then I bought a humidifier and now the humidity is about 35% and I do feel a little better.

Re: Air Hunger

Hi, well everything sounds so familiar, the tests the yawning etc.....I've had this problem for 2 yrs now and have all but given up on what it is. I guess I have just learned to live with it. For me I have a symptom I haven't heard yet. It feels like the air that I breathe in has a hard time going thru my sinus area. I went up to UCSF medical center and had them look up my sinus's to see if there was any obstruction, but he said it was clear. I do have allergy problems, but so far no doc can tell me thats what it is. Does anyone have that feeling too? Like if your sinus behind your nose makes the air kinda drag a little. Oh and when I take actifed allergy pills I do breathe better, thats how I can tell when I need a pill. Hmmmmmm I might be onto something here. If anyone here has same symptoms, please let me know.

Re: Air Hunger

I have trouble breathing through my nose which causes me to breath through my mouth. I have heard that mouth breathing can cause this.
