I'm 23. I was on Ortho-Cyclen all of high school so I didn't have to deal with acne for the most part. Only had a cyst once every few months. When I went off birth control for the first time, at 19, everything was great for over a year. Then I started breaking out and it got increasingly worse.
I tried to steer clear of going back on BC but the inevitable happened. After about 6 months of going through hell I finally gave up and went back on birth control. This time it was Yasmin and I was 21. Within a few months I was clear and stayed clear for the most part. I would only get a couple whiteheads here and there around the chin/mouth area. No cysts whatsoever. Unfortunately I gained around 20 pounds in about a year.
When I turned 23 I stopped taking Yasmin. Acne came back. I am now taking the natural route instead of going back on the pill. I have done a cleanse on my body and changed my entire lifestyle i.e. eating habits. Not a diet. A lifestyle change. My acne is getting better. I am also using tea tree oil which is great. In a couple more months I could be zit free
