Re: babag please help
barbie- here it is dec. of 04 already. since my last note to you, i have had my cardiologist appt. on the 17th at the o of m. he said my 30 day monitor shows i have no more atrial fib or flutter in my heart. if so, it took 6mos to calm down. he took away my cardizem, and coumadin(yes), reduced my rhythmol by a third and left me on toprol xl 100 mg. hopefully my all my episodes were caused by meds? i was taking alot. i will find that out. i now have to take one aspirin, 325mg a day. they also said that i have many "extra beats" but they don't do anything about them. i always thought when i had episodes my heart was irregular. wonder if "extra beats" and irregular are the same. anyway, my next appt. will be next may, a year from my ablation. time will tell and if i have problems to "just call". it makes me happier today, in my mind i thought i was going to have another ablation and possibly a pacemaker but lo and behold.

Re: babag please help
pms barbie- it's been awhile since your ablation. about 8 months i think. so, how do you feel now? my ablation for atrial fib/flutter that i had for years took 6months to settle down and now i just have extra heartbeats that i guess they don't bother with. now i have a whole new set of symtoms. while being on my feet for a long time (ie: shopping), i start to feel weak, hot and sweaty, dizzy, and feel on the verge of fainting so i have to sit and rest, the rest of the day is somewhat shot. i also have been revisted by migraines and hot flashes that i have not had for over 6 years (i am 64 now and i use to have them). my cardiologist that i revisited after post ablation said "see you 1 year post which will be 5/05) even told him my journal of symptoms and it didn't seem to bother him. at the same visit, i have been moved off cardizem, coumadin cold turkey on 11/04, and have a reduction in rhythmol. i still take toprol xl 100mg too and now an aspirin a day. all my bloodwork, xrays, ekgs etc. seem to be ok. i don't know if this is helping you or hindering you. i started out thinking i was helping by telling you i too have problems. hum?

Re: babag please help
Hello everyone,
I have Inappropriate sinus tachycardia, IST for short, I have had it since I was a kid I am now 43. I have had 2 ablations with not much sucess. I do believe Radio frequency can be helpful for many types of heart rhythms but is too new for IST. I am on many drugs to keep HR down. Mine seems fine when I am lying down, but when I stand for hours and do any type of exercise my HR stays high for a long time. Usually between 150bpm and 200bpm. I have heard good things about RFablation for other heart rate problems but not so good for what I have. I will not be going for another ablation. The ablations both took around 7 hours each.
Take care,
Leslie

I JUST RETURNED FROM 4 DAYS AT U OF M. MY EPISODES SENT ME BY AMBULANCE FROM MY CITY. AFTER MANY TESTS, SEEMS LIKE I AM IN LINE FOR ANOTHER RADIOWAVE ABLATION FOR BLOCKED PACS. THIS CAUSES NEAR FAINTING EPISODES WHEN I EXTEND MYSELF TO MORE EXERCISE. I ALREADY HAD ONE FOR ATRIAL FIB AND FLUTTER. THEY TOSSED AROUND THE IDEAL OF A PACEMAKER BUT WAS NOT INDICATED FOR PACS. HERE I AM AT HOME WAITING FOR A DATE AND TIME FOR THIS IN THE NEAR FUTURE. IT HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR 7-8 MONTHS. HOPE THEY CAN GET IT RIGHT.. I HATE COUMADIN AND WAS RECENTLY TAKEN OFF IT BECAUSE I HAD GOOD SINUS RHYTHM. GOOD LUCK TO YOU...
