itchy painful skin??

The past 3 or 4 weeks I've had this area of my skin on my chest become very very itchy, and painful if scratched or if I put lotion on it (I thought it was dry skin). It feels rather smooth, and looks sort of like a rash at random times and in the shower, and when scratched the itchyness runs up to my neck. lotion on it feels like...a mix between firey burning, and like I got punched. It's a bit tender to the touch too.

Really confuses me, I ruled out food I'm allergic to, laundry detergent/softener, clothing, I haven't changed the products or way I use them in the shower...I don't have the problem anywhere else on my body either. ???

Hmm could just be a rash caused by something. You could get it checked out by either or regular doctor or a dermatologist. In the meantime, try some benadryl gel to stop the itch.

I wonder if it could be shingles or exczema or possibly an allergic reaction? Especially if your shower was a hot or warm one, excema can really hurt and burn! I'd go see a derm if it doesn't go away!
