there is a med for ibs called zelnorm i dont have ibs my doctor perscibed me zelnorm it works for me

caffeine and niccotine are stimulants, not that I think you should start smoking taking a good walk and lying on your side work too, as well as a beer

isn't IBS the opposite problem? My husband has it and constipation isn't one of his worries.

i dont have ibs either but i have constipation and nothing works my doc put me on ibs medicine for it called zelnorm i take 2 in am and 2 in pm and works for me

On my third day home from surgery, I had gone a week without a BM and my "innerds" hurt worse than my two incisions. I called my 80-year-neighbor-mother-substitute and she came running with her "pharmacy." It included HOT prune juice, stool softeners, fiber tablets, a liquid laxative they give to prepare for colonoscopies, and suppositores (with instructions to use several, not just one or two)... not sure what worked, but something did. But I had to keep repeating the prune juice and suppositories for at least 3 weeks following surgery. Hope some of the advice you have received since your post will help. Mary in Texas
