Arrow Alcohol + Cephalexin?

Does anyone know if I can drink alochol while I'm on the anti-biotic Cephalexin?

It's been prescribed to me for an infected toe, 3 times a day for 10 days. Normally, I drink very, very rarely (don't know if this has any bearing on anything) but I would like to indulge in champagne for New Year's... The pharmacist who filled the prescription said there are no restrictions on alcohol and most online drug references don't list it as a restriction.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I will do further research on my own.

Re: Alcohol + Cephalexin?

I have been on cephalexin many times in my pamphlet it says that it should not be mixed with alcohol as it may cause abdominal or stomach cramps, nausea, vomiting, headache, dizziness or light-headedness, shortness of breath, sweating, or facial flushing.

Happy New year and have a great time!!
